Concrete batching plant control system
The concrete batching plant control system coordinates aggregate, cementitious materials, water, admixtures, mixing and discharge in one production sequence. Depending on the plant configuration, it supports automatic production, semi-automatic operation and manual service control.
The project-specific system can combine an operator interface, PLC and I/O modules, weighing controllers, an electrical cabinet, recipe management, batch reports, alarms and access permissions. Networking, remote diagnostics, automatic moisture correction and integration with plant software are optional.
Overview
Product purpose
The control system is the command, monitoring and data centre of a concrete batching plant. It compares recipe targets with signals from scales and sensors, then runs feeders, conveyors, screw conveyors, pumps, valves, the mixer and discharge mechanisms in the required sequence.
Suitable plant types
The system can be configured for stationary wet-mix plants, mobile and compact plants, dry-mix batching plants and control-system modernisation projects. Material circuits, scales, motors, pneumatic devices, interlocks and reporting functions are mapped for the actual plant.
Control architecture
Local control
An HMI panel or single industrial computer can cover recipe selection, automatic cycles, manual service control and a local alarm log for one plant or mobile site.
Standard automation
For commercial ready-mix or continuous project production, a PLC-based system can combine the operator workstation, process screens, recipes, material-consumption records, shift reports, user permissions and diagnostics.
Networked configuration
Large or multi-line plants can add a backup workstation, industrial network and agreed data exchange with laboratory, dispatch or enterprise systems.
Main components
The project configuration may include an electrical control cabinet, PLC and digital/analogue I/O, operator interface, weighing controllers, motor and pneumatic controls, batch-data storage, alarms, interlocks and protected network access.
Standard and optional scope
The standard automation package covers the agreed process sequence, recipes, weighing interfaces, alarms and manual service functions. Optional functions include UPS protection, backup operator station, reporting printer, remote diagnostics, online aggregate-moisture correction and laboratory or ERP integration.
Installation requirements
The control room should be dry, ventilated and isolated from process dust. Stable power, protective earthing, separation of power and signal cables, screened analogue cables and accessible emergency-stop stations are required.
Maintenance and spare parts
Keep current backups of recipes and software, calibrate the scales periodically, test emergency stops and interlocks, clean cabinet filters and fans, tighten terminals and inspect power supplies and batteries. A practical spare set may include fuses, relays, a power supply, communications module, key sensors and weighing components.
Information required for quotation
Provide the plant type and model, mixer, material circuits, scale arrangement, motor and valve list, electrical standard, available drawings, required operating modes, interface languages, report formats, integration needs and commissioning location.
