How to Select an LSY Cement Screw Conveyor
A cement screw conveyor is the main transfer unit between a silo and the cement scale of a batching plant. Model number alone is not enough: required mass flow, centre-to-centre distance, incline, cement flowability and duty cycle must be considered together.
Models and reference capacities
GXZG source data gives reference figures of 40 t/h for LSY219, 80 t/h for LSY273 and 110 t/h for LSY325. These are not universal guaranteed capacities. A long conveyor, steep incline, damp or cohesive material and uneven feeding can reduce actual throughput.
1. Determine required flow
Calculate the cement mass required per batch and the time available to fill the scale. The screw must fill the cement scale within the allowed time; selecting it only from the plant's average hourly concrete output can be misleading. Check different recipes and peak demand separately.
2. Provide the geometry
Record the horizontal centre distance, vertical height difference and installation angle from the silo outlet to the cement-scale inlet. Useful throughput can fall as incline increases. Long routes may require intermediate supports, service access and careful coupling alignment.
3. Check material and duty cycle
Fly ash, mineral powder and other powders have different density and flow characteristics from ordinary Portland cement. Starts per hour, operating duration, ambient temperature and dust conditions affect selection of the geared motor and bearings.
4. Connections and safety
The silo outlet flange, screw inlet, cement-scale connection and flexible compensator must match. Guards for rotating parts, motor protection, emergency stopping and energy isolation for maintenance must be provided.
5. Maintenance
Inspect bearings, seals, screw-flight wear and gearbox oil regularly. If throughput falls, first check material moisture, silo aeration, screw filling and rotation direction.
For selection, send TANKER the material type, required t/h, horizontal length, height difference, angle, supply voltage and connection drawing.
Comparison table
